William "Willie" Ballard IV, 49, of Bardstown, passed away unexpectedly on January 26, 2025. Willie was an avid and lifelong sports fan, with a deep love for the Kentucky Wildcats and the San Francisco 49ers. His passion for sports went beyond just watching the games; it was a part of his identity and a bond he shared with many. Whether cheering on his teams from his living room or discussing the latest game with his friends, his enthusiasm for sports was infectious and brought joy to everyone around him.
Willie took great pride in his work as the owner of W.B. Countertops, where he built his business with dedication, pride, and a commitment to excellence. He poured his heart into every project, ensuring the highest quality for his clients and earning the respect of everyone he worked with.
Willie was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nolan and Sally Snellen, Betty Ballard, Randall and Sue Greer; and his uncle, Tony Snellen.
He is survived by his parents, CeCe and Donnie Greer, of Bardstown, and Buster Ballard, of New Haven; grandfather, Buddy Ballard, of New Haven; sisters, Katie (Austin) Kennedy, of Guntersville, AL, and Kimberly (Cody) Thomas, of Lawrenceburg, Ky; his niece and nephews, Adeline, Dash, and Barrett; his special friend Carrie Heaton; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will all miss him deeply.
A celebration of Willie's life will be held 3 pm - 8 pm with a memorial service at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Barlow Funeral Home. Burial will be held 11 am at Bardstown Cemetery on Thursday January 30, 2025. As per his wishes, cremation was chosen. Friends and family will gather to honor his memory, his legacy as a loving friend, and his passion for sports, hard work, and craftsmanship.
