Thomas E "Eddie" Reynolds Jr. 77 of Bardstown passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at his residence. He was born April 12, 1948 in Nelson County. He was retired from the Fort Knox Commissary as a butcher.
He was an avid outdoorsman who found his greatest joy on horseback. Over the years, he traveled to many states, exploring countless trails alongside family and friends. He took great pride in his farm, where he loved hosting hunters and sharing his passion for the outdoors.
Whether visitors came to hunt, fish, ride horses, or simply enjoy the quiet countryside, no one ever left his farm hungry.
Known for his legendary sweet tooth, he always kept a stash of candy on hand-something his grandchildren came to count on during every visit to Papaw's.
He proudly served his country as a U.S. Army veteran, spending part of his service as a driver for a general. A gifted storyteller, he never tired of sharing tales from his life, each one delivered with a familiar smile, even if it was one you'd heard before.
A dedicated supporter of the 4-H Bit and Bridle Club, he devoted countless hours to helping its members grow and succeed, leaving a lasting impact on his community and the people he loved the most.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Edward "Ed" Sr. and Mary Bailey Reynolds; son Andrew Lee "Andy" Reynolds; and great nephew Hayden Edward Reynolds.
He is survived by a son, Tony (Terra) Reynolds of Cox's Creek; daughter, Lori (Torben) Petersen of Bardstown; four grandchildren, Carson Reynolds, Kaylee Reynolds, Neils Petersen and Lilee Petersen; a great grandson Kannen Reynolds: Four brothers Gary (Debbie) Reynolds of Floyd Knobs IN., Joe (Lynn) Reynolds of Bardstown, Dennis Reynolds of Bardstown and Steve (Samantha) Reynolds of Elizabethtown; Four sisters, Jo Ann Jury of Elizabethtown, Kitty Stewart of Bowling Green, Donna (Jerry) Boone of Bardstown, and Susie (Steve) Elder of Lexington. Two bonus daughters, Lisa (Travis) Hopkins and Linda (Jason) McCool; his lifetime best friend, Danny "Swampy" Brown; his significant other Sharon Roark of Tennessee and his beloved toy poodle, Bailey.
