Thomas “Tom” Jones, 82, of Bardstown, passed away Friday, February 5, 2021 at Baptist Health Louisville. He was born on April 12, 1938 in Fredericksburg. He retired from General Electric, worked for 10 years at
Caritas Home Heath as a carrier, a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, and he always loved to cook, a gentleman, friendly, and also had a wonderful smile.
He was preceded in death by his twin daughters, Margaret Jones and Mary Jones; parents, John and Clara Jones; three brothers, Jake Jones, Casey Jones, and L.C. Yates; and a sister, Helen Yates.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Peggy Jones of Bardstown; two sons, John Jones of Cox’s Creek and Dwight Jones of Leander, Texas; four daughters, Jennifer (Jim Hall) Jones, Julia (Tim) Filiatreau both of Bardstown, Rachel (Greg) Worth of Louisville, and Beth (Derek) Jones of New Albany, Indiana; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joe (Martha) Jones of Bardstown and Sam Jones of Greenville, South Carolina; two sisters, Hattie (Bernard) Spalding of Springfield and Lillian Albertson of Bardstown; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with burial in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Rev. Culpepper Elliott will be officiating. Visitation will be 5 till 8 P.M. Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Barlow Funeral Home.
