Richard Alan Shannon

Richard Alan Shannon, 73, of Bardstown, passed away Sunday November 21, 2021 at Landmark of Bardstown.  He was born February 23, 1948 in Hardin County, and a retired Maintenance Man.

He was preceded in death by his father, James E. Shannon Sr.; mother, Mary “Lee” Young Shannon; two brothers, James Shannon Jr., and Patrick Shannon; and two sisters, Charmaine Daverede and Karen “Susie” Nutty.

He is survived by his daughter, Sandy Shannon of Maryland; son, Ricky Shannon of Tennessee; several grandchildren; two sisters, Jennie Lee Ritchie of Bardstown, and Mary Catherine Best of Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be 12:00 pm Wednesday November 24, 2021 at Barlow Funeral Home, with cremation to follow. A private inurnment will be at Bardstown Cemetery.  Rev. Matthew Spandler-Davidson will officiate.  Visitation will be 10 am – 12 pm Wednesday November 24 at Barlow Funeral Home.
