Randy L. Tharp

Randy L. Tharp, 68, of Bardstown, passed away Tuesday May 13, 2025 at his residence. He was born October 19, 1956 in Nelson County. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and working out in the garage, piddling with his son and grandson. He is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Tharp and Anna Marie Yates Tharp; one son, Jason Spencer Tharp; and three brothers, Daniel Keith Tharp, Ricky Tharp, and Wayne Tharp.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Cathy Tharp; son, Jeremy Tharp; grandson, Joseph Trenton Lee Tharp, all of Bardstown; eight sisters, Verna Newton, Rita Ringle, Donna Calvert, Linda Stallings, Faye Smith, Pat Beam, Quinda Clark, Pam Hill; three brothers, Dale Tharp, Butch Tharp, and Gary Tharp; and several nieces and nephews. 

His Funeral Mass will be 11 am Tuesday May 20, 2025 at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 4 pm - 8 pm Monday May 19, 2025 and 9 am - 10:15 am Tuesday May 20, at Barlow Funeral Home. Prayers will be held Monday evening at 6 pm. 

Memorial contributions may go towards masses. 

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
