Mary Lee Heaton O'Malley

Mary Lee Heaton O"Malley, 77, of Bardstown, passed away Thursday May 9, 2024 at Baptist Health Louisville. She was born January 7, 1947 in Ft. Madison, Iowa.

Lee was very involved in her church and faith, she was a Eucharistic Minister often visiting the sick, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She belonged to many clubs including the Garden Club, D.A.R., Widow's Club, and Supper Club were the group has been meeting with each other for over 50 years. She enjoyed traveling and going to destinations based in her faith. Lee's favorite job of all was being a grandmother. 

She was preceded in death by her husband. Judge Robert "Bob" Heaton; parents, Dr. Leroy Dierker and Carrie Dierker; two brothers, Richard Charles Dierker and Bernard F. Dierker; and sister, Carol Dierker Herbert.

She is survived by her husband, Bob O'Malley of Bardstown; son Rob (Britanny) Heaton of Bardstown; daughter, Carrie Heaton of Bardstown; two grandsons, Robert Matthew Heaton and Liam Patrick Heaton; three step-children, Tracey Wellman of Boise, Idaho, Lori Campbell of Boise, Idaho, and Robert )"Malley IV of Merridian, Idaho; two brothers, Dr. Leroy (Carrie) Dierker JR of Cleveland, Ohio and Jim (Cathy) Dierker of Houston, Texas; sister, Ann Richter of Bardstown; niece, Jennifer Evans of Bardstown; brother-in-law, Dick (Alice) Heaton and their sons Johnathan and Nicholas and their families; and several nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Mass will be 11 am Thursday May 16, 2024 at Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with cremation to follow. Visitation will be 3 pm to 8 pm Wednesday May 15 and 9 am to 10:15 am Thursday May 16 at Barlow Funeral Home. Burial at St. Joseph Cemetery will be held Saturday May 25 at Noon. Prayers will be at 5:30pm Wednesday.
