Mary Lavonne Bunch Nalley

Mary Lavonne Bunch Nalley, 72 of Bardstown, passed away Monday, June 9, 2025 at Norton Women and Children's Hospital. She was born August 18, 1952 in Bardstown. 

She was one of the founding members of Nelson Co. Child Development Center, a life long caregiver, and a mamaw to all of her grandchildren and the ones in her neighborhood.

She was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth Gail Lopez and Claudio Adan Lopez; parents, Frances "Bonnie" Bunch and Ernest Bunch; her grandmother that raised her, Lily Mae Riggs; brothers, Leroy, Terry, and John Bunch; sisters, Shirley Jackson and Connie Spears; cherished mother-in-law, Elizabeth (Olie) Mae Nalley; and a special aunt, Doris Riggs Waltz.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years. Joseph "Herman" Nalley; three daughters, Cyndi (Felipe) Alonzo, Sherry (William) Morales, and Stephanie Kay Nalley; her furry child, Luna; eight grandchildren, Kailyn Nalley, Thomas Nalley, Alejandra Alonzo, Casey Armando (Tessa) Nalley-Lopez, Daniel (Destiny) Morales, Ariana (Christian) Lopez-Carmona, Kevin Skylar (Hallie) Nalley-Alonzo, and Andrea Nalley-Morales; ten great-grandchildren, Reina Miles, Kenley Nalley, Adrian Lopez, Kashton Parker, Noah Lopez-Carmona, Elliana Lopez, Nico Lopez-Carmona, Lucas Nalley-Alonzo, Joseph Nalley-Alonzo, and Baby Lopez due in July; and two sisters, Sharon (Melvin) Chesser, and Pat Nalley.

Her funeral service will be 11 am Thursday June 12,2025 at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Deacon Scott Turner will officiate. Visitation will be 4 pm to 8 pm Wednesday June 11 and 9 am to 11 am Thursday June 12 at Barlow Funeral Home.
