Mary "JoAnn" Miles

Mary "JoAnn" Miles, 89, of New Haven, passed away Monday November 24, 2025 at her home. She was born on August 14, 1936 in Nelson County to Herman and Katherine Rogers Vittitow. 

JoAnn enjoyed camping, fishing, playing cards with family, and cooking holiday dinners. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Elmer Miles; sisters, Dean Dones, and Phyllis Vittitow (Infant), and her brother, Roger Herman Vittitow.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Bobby Miles, of New Haven, Kentucky; two daughters, Pam (Russ) Thurman, of Bardstown, Kentucky, and Missy (Bill) Newton, of New Haven, Kentucky;  three sons, Ricky (Kathy) Miles, Dougie (Barbara) Miles, and Jeff (Jenny) Miles, all of New Haven; siblings, Donna Miles and Pat Cundiff; fourteen grandchildren, two of which were her caregivers : April Downs, and Rachel Wooldridge; twenty-six great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at Barlow Funeral Home, with burial in St. Thomas Cemetery.  Bro. Gary Chesser will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 PM to 8 PM on Monday, December 1, 2025 and 9 AM until the time of service on Tuesday at Barlow Funeral Home. There will be a prayer service at 7 PM on Monday, led by Father Ben Brown.
