Mary Nalley

Mary Elizabeth Nalley passed away on Monday August 12, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones in Chicago, Illinois. She was born on January 27, 1952, in Bardstown, KY, and most recently lived in Palatine, IL. 

Mary enjoyed traveling to Florida and Michigan with Hank Joda. In her free time, she loved bowling, crocheting, playing raffles/lottery, shopping & making crafts for everyone. She always liked to cook for the holidays, and she always made enough to feed an army. Mary loved her family very much and would go out of her way for everyone.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph “Frankie” Nalley, parents Willie Hillard and Goldie Burke and siblings, William Hillard, Jimmy Guy Hillard, Margaret Louise Moore, Wanda Sue Rubino, Barbara Jean Hillard, Myrtle Irene Lucas and Maudie Hanson.

She is survived by her children, Penny (Remon) Knowlton and Joseph “JJ” (Jenny) Nalley. Eight grandchildren, Stephanie, Samantha, Jeremy, Tessa, Christian, Matthew, Zachary and Madyson. Six great grandchildren, Colton, Mackenzie, Emma, Ezekiel, Koa and Avery. Four siblings, Billy Ray Hillard, Lupie Hillard, Jeanette Hillard and Billy Jack Hillard. 

Her funeral will be 11 am Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Barlow Funeral Home, burial will be in The First Cedar Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 pm - 8 pm Friday, August 23, 2024 and Saturday, August 24, 2024 9 am - 11 am at Barlow Funeral Home.
