Lillian Marie Rogers, 97, of New Haven, passed away Friday December 25, 2020 at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville. She was born September 30, 1923 in Howardstown, a homemaker while raising seven children, received her associates degree from Mt. St. Joseph College, and a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church and St. Thomas Catholic Church. During her younger years raising children, she enjoyed bridge with her New Haven lady friends. While living in Bardstown, she loved going to church with family members and then out to eat lunch. Later in life, living in Louisville, her favorite pastimes were shopping and celebrating birthdays and holidays with her seven children, their spouses, and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vic Rogers; parents, Clarence and Nell Boone; two brothers, Clarence Boone, and Billy Boone; and sister, Elsie Boone.
She is survived by her seven children, Marilyn Ann (Bill) Strong of Louisville, Shirley (Charlie) Floyd of Stone Mountain, GA, Bobby (Rosie) Rogers of Shelbyville, Elizabeth (Roger) Foster of Lexington, Paul (Sondra) Rogers of Richmond, Glenn (Becky) Rogers of New Haven, and Connie (Sam) DuPlessis of Louisville; seventeen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Boone S.C.N. of Bardstown, and Helen Greenwell of Culvertown; and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday January 2, 2021 at St. Catherine Catholic Church, with burial in St. Catherine Cemetery in New Haven. Visitation will be 4 – 8 pm Friday January 1 at Barlow Funeral Home and 10 – 11 am Saturday January 2 at St. Catherine Catholic Church.
Memorial contributions may go to Masses at St. Catherine of Alexandria or other catholic churches, or St. Catherine Academy (grade school in New Haven, KY).
