Joseph Orlando Downs

Joseph Orlando Downs, 87 of Bardstown passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at Norton Clark Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana.  He was born on March 10, 1938 in Bardstown.  He was an Army Veteran in the Armor Division, the owner of Joseph Downs Excavating and Plumbing, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and loved to hunt and farm.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Elizabeth Downs.

He is survived by his wife Emily "Joyce" Downs of Bardstown; two sons, Brent (Jessica) Downs and Jonathan (Elizabeth) Downs; and four grandchildren, Linus Downs, Winston Downs, Jebediah Downs and Haywood Downs.

His funeral service is at 11:00 A.M. November 7, 2025 at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto Cathedral.  The Very Reverand J. Randall Hubbard will officiate.  Visitation from 9 A.M. till 10:15 A.M. Friday, November 7, 2025 at Barlow Funeral Home.  Burial will be at a later date.
