Joseph Harold Hagan, passed away, Saturday June 22, 2024 at his home at the age of 90. He was a graduate of St. Mary's College (KY), a U.S. Navy Veteran, and a 37-year employee of Barton Brands Ltd, retiring as Personnel Manager. He served on the North Central Comprehensive Care Board, Bardstown Board of Adjustments, Hospice Board, and was Lector and Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Preston and Lucille Boone Hagan; his first wife, Sue Beeler Hagan; and a brother, Jim Hagan.
His is survived by his wife, Julia Spalding Hagan; his children, Sue (Clarence) Greenwell of Bardstown, Stephen (Barbara) Hagan of New Hope, and Karen (John) Doerschuk of Alpharetta GA; five grandchildren, Clay (Yadel) Greenwell of Lexington, Jakob Greenwell of Lexington, and Barrett Greenwell of Manhatten, and Ethan Doerschuk of Alpharetta GA and Kaitlynn Doerschuk of Albharetta GA; a great-grandchild, Isabel Marie Greenwell of Lexington; a brother, Albert (Fritzi) Hagan; and sisters, Mary White, Patsy (Charlie) Cooper, Peggy (Jim) Sohan, and Cathy (Phil) Fister; and many nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Mass will be held 11 am Tuesday June 25, 2024 at Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 pm to 8 pm Monday June 24 and 9 am to 10:15 am Tuesday June 25 at Barlow Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Nelson County and/or Guthrie Opportunity Center.
