John C. Hutchins Jr., 79 of Bardstown, passed away Friday, February 14, 2025 at his residence. He was born on September 15, 1945 in Louisville. John retired from Bird and Son Vinyl, Owner of JCH Landscaping and a lifelong farmer, an Army Veteran, a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, St. Thomas Men's Club, Knights of Columbus, American Legion and DAV.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. and Helen Hutchins and two brothers, Calvin Hutchins and Ernie Hutchins.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne Hutchins; two daughters, Kim Hall (Mark) and Katrina Hutchins (Chad Smith); two grandchildren, Alex Hall and Kaitlyn Hall; eight brothers and sisters, Robert Hutchins (Nina), Reva Cook (George), Terry Hutchins (Lori), Sam Hutchins (Saundra), Steve Hutchins, Nancy Cecil (Wayne), Helen Allen and Ben Hutchins (Angie); a sister-in-law, Cathy Hutchins; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral mass will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February, 20, 2025 at St. Gregory "The Great" Catholic Church with burial in St. Gregory Cemetery with full military honors by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard. Rev. Jason Harris will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 till 8 P.M. Wednesday, February 19, 2025 and 9 to 10:15 A.M. Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Barlow Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at 7 P.M. Wednesday at Barlow Funeral Home.
Donations may go to Hospice of Nelson County or St. Thomas Catholic Church.
