John Blevins

John Blevins, 79, of Bardstown passed away Tuesday January 24, 2023 at University of Louisville Hospital. He was born November 13, 1943 in Rossville, Georgia.  

He was an avid hunter and a family man. He was an Army Veteran where he was Special Forces, and served during the Vietnam War, and was stationed in West Berlin, Germany during the Cold War. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ada Blevins. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Ann Blevins; four sons, Mark (Sherry) Blevins of Bardstown, Scott (Alison) Blevins of Charlestown, Indiana, Matthew (Jami) Blevins of Bardstown, and Daniel Blevins of Louisville; four grandchildren, Sean Blevins, Shelly Blevins-Stratton, Wyatt Blevins, and Luke Blevins; great-granddaughter, Ava Blevins-Stratton; sister, Yvonne Tomacic; and brother, Butch Fortin. 

His funeral service will be 11 am Monday January 30, 2023 at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in Lebanon National Cemetery. Visitation will be 12 pm to 5 pm Sunday January 29 and 9 am to 11 am January 30 at Barlow Funeral Home. 

Memorial contributions may be made to donor’s favorite charity.
