James "Jimmy" Robert Lawson

James "Jimmy" Robert Lawson, 71, of Cox's Creek, passed away Tuesday May 28, 2024 at University of Kentucky Medical Center, in Lexington.  He was born January 22, 1953 in Lebanon, retired from Republic National Distribution Company, and of the Baptist Faith.

He was preceded in death by his two grandsons, Cooper Lawson, and Brandon Stinson; father, Bobby Gene Lawson; and two brothers, Stevie Lawson, and Joseph Martin Lawson.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joyce Newton Lawson of Cox's Creek; daughter, Ginny Lawson of Shepherdsville; son, Brandon Lawson of Cox's Creek; mother, Nellie Adams Lawson of Springfield; seven grandchildren, Justin Stinson, Logan Wise, Kamryn Lawson, Spencer Lawson, Jamie Stinson, Ashley Stinson, and Nikki Dillander; great-grandson, Colson Stinson; six siblings, Barney (Lisa) Lawson, David (Karen) Lawson both of Louisville, Billy (Linda) Lawson of Indiana, Sandy (Raymond) Calhoun of Mt. Washington, Pat (Troy) Self of Shepherdsville, and Joyce Ann Arms of Louisville; and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday June 1, 2024 at Barlow Funeral Home, with burial in St. Gregory Cemetery.  Brother Everett Hood will officiate.  Visitation will be 3 - 8 pm Friday May 31 and 9 - 11 am Saturday June 1 at Barlow Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may go to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
