James "Jim" Shewmaker

James "Jim" Shewmaker, 74, of Bardstown passed away Friday, November 7, 2025 at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center.  He was born on July 3, 1951 in Lebanon, Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his parents:  C.A. and Anna Lou Hourigan Shewmaker and two sisters, Charlotte Shewmaker and Stephanie Shewmaker.

He is survived by significant other, Nancy Dearmond; two sons, James Travis Shewmaker and Joseph Wallace Shewmaker; five grandchildren, Justin Lamton Parrott, James Cameron Shewmaker, Logan Shewmaker, Lainey Jo Shewmaker and Dakota Benningfield; three brothers, Curtiss Shewmaker, Joe Kent (Cindy) Shewmaker and Ed Shewmaker; a sister, Shari Shewmaker (Bruce) Stahmer; and several nieces and nephews.

Jim's memorial visitation will be from 3 to 7 P.M. Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at Barlow Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Beech Fork Hayesville Cemetery in Gravel Switch at a later date.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
