James B. Shofner, 76 of New Haven, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Norton Hospital. He was born on September 12, 1947 in Larue County. He was a member of Woodlawn Methodist Church, loved working on hot rods, an Air Force Veteran where he was an airplane mechanic and a master Subaru and ASC Tech.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel and Tom Shofner; a granddaughter, Tara Shofner: brother, Bill Shofner; and two sisters, Pat Blackford and Becky Shofner.
He is survived by his wife, Tressie "Jean" Shofner; daughter, Marcie (Norman) Nease; son, Scott (Donna) Shofner; four grandchildren, Casey (Ashley) Nease, Justin (Holly) Nease, Jeff (Melissa) Shofner and Jenna Shofner; sixteen great-grandchildren, brother, Raymond Shofner; sister, Sharlot Galloway; several nieces, nephews, friends and his two beloved dogs, Fred and Ginger.
His funeral service will be at 12:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in Lebanon National Cemetery. Pastor Jerry Pile will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 am till 12 P.M. Wednesday, May 5, 2024 at Barlow Funeral Home. Marion County Veteran Honor Guard will do Military Honors at Lebanon National Cemetery.
