James Brown Obituary

James Eugene “Gene” Brown, 77, of Bardstown, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Norton Women and Children’s Hospital in Louisville. He was born on January 24, 1943 in Washington County, retired from General Electric, and a member of Bardstown United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, LaVonne Brown; parents, Elmore and Frances Brown; and two brothers, Purdom Brown and Willard Brown.

He is survived by his three children, Kim Beam of Bardstown, Cindy (Brent) Baxter of Mt. Washington, and Jamie (Pam) Brown of Taylorsville; step-daughter, Lana Reid of Bardstown; twelve grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.

His service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Bardstown United Methodist Church with burial in Bardstown Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Pile will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 till 8 P.M. Monday, December 28, 2020 at Barlow Funeral Home and 9 till 11 A.M. Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Bardstown United Methodist Church.
