Hillman Jerome "Jerry" Blanford, 75 of Bardstown, passed away Monday, January 27, 2025 at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was born on October 6, 1949 in Lebanon. Jerry was an Army Veteran and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He loved fishing, hunting, his family, grandchildren and great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Hillman "Fuzzy" and Mary Mudd Blanford; and his sister, Frances Kateri "Teri" Edelen.
He is survived by his five children, Mary Kaye Blanford, Amanda Lynn Blanford, Danielle Avery, Jarrod Blanford, and Wesley Blanford; eleven grandchildren, Hayden, Zoe, Emma, Ryley, Ellie, Blake, Jacob, Grayson, Lincoln, Connor and Dawson; one great-grandchild Lawsyn; the mother of his children, Paula Blanford; a sister, Mary Dianne Bleemel (Mike); a brother, Pat Blanford; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto Cathedral with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Rev. J. Randall Hubbard will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. Friday, January 31, 2025 and 9 to 10:15 A.M. Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Barlow Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may go to the Humane Society of Nelson County or Masses.
