Gary Borland

Gary Borland, 75 , of Bardstown, died at his residence on Monday, November 11, 2024. He was born in Louisville Kentucky to Charles Lee and Wanda Osborne Borland. He attended Freed- Hardeman University in Henderson Tennessee. Gary passed away on Veteran's day, and served his country as a medic in Vietnam. He was a member of VFW 1170- Middletown, Ky. He was employed by Rainbow Bakery as a sales supervisor for twenty – four years before earning certification as a soil erosion specialist from the University of Kentucky. He retired from Kelsey Construction in 2018. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Tracy Scott Borland; one brother Charles Lee (Buddy) Borland III; and a sister Karen Diane Brown.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-nine years, Rita "Jo" Yates, of Bardstown; and one brother Rodney (Linda) Borland of Leitchfield Kentucky as well as four nephews and two nieces.

His funeral service will be 10 am Friday, November 15, 2024 at Barlow Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4-8 pm, Thursday, November 14, 2024 and 9-10 am, Friday November 15, at Barlow Funeral Home. A Military Honors service will be held at the graveside. Burial will be at New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
