Gail Adkins, 75, of Carter County, Kentucky, and a long-term resident of Bardstown Kentucky passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025. She was born on September 28, 1949, in Carter County, a daughter of the late Willard and Ruby Bailey.
On November 30, 1968, Gail married the love of her life, Pete Adkins. Together they shared 56 beautiful years of marriage, devoted to one another and to the family they built.
Gail was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose kindness, warmth, and unwavering support touched everyone who knew her. She is survived by her husband Pete; four treasured children, Angie (Vince) Hall, Shelly Adkins, Tawnya (Cody) Dingler, and Tara (Josh) Mullins; seven beloved grandchildren, Allison (Layne) Poage, Kaylee Hall, Emily (Mason) Riggs, Kaleb Dingler, Cheyenne (Matthew) Smith, Micheal Hall, Lilly Hall; two step-grandchildren, Kira Mullins and Bryce Mullins; and two precious great-grandchildren, Wrenlee Poage and Elijah Riggs.
She is also survived by her brother Don (Sara) Bailey, and three sisters, Della (Garland) Knipp, Janice (Gene) Stevens, and Joyce (Mark) Matthews.
Gail was preceded in death by five brothers, Larry (Wilma) Bailey, Wayne (Donna) Bailey, Marvin Bailey, Estil (Janice) Bailey, and Sam (Kathy) Bailey, as well as three sisters, Jearlean (Elwood) Bledsoe, Jewell (Sam) Garvin, and Carolyn Bailey.
Her life was marked by her deep love for her family, her steadfast faith, and her generous spirit. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those she loved.
Her funeral service will be 11 am Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 pm to 7 pm Wednesday, August and 9 am to 11 am Thursday August 21 at Barlow Funeral Home.
