Frances Monroe Hagan, 83, of Bloomfield, passed away Friday July 28, 2023 at her residence. She was born February 6, 1940 in Taylorsville; homemaker and farmer, antiques dealer, Kentucky Colonel, member of Eastern Star # 436 My Old KY Home Chapter, and a charter member of Wakefield Baptist Church, where she was a church Treasurer for many years, and a Sunday School Teacher.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Thomas Leroy Hagan; parents, Everett Truman Monroe and Naomi Christine Landers Monroe; brother, Roy Dale Monroe; niece, Vickie Hollingsworth; brother-in-law, Paul McClain; and niece-in-law, Jennifer McClain.
She is survived by her two children, Craig Anthony (Karen) Hagan, and Rhonda Kaye Hagan (Keith) McGill both of Bloomfield; four grandchildren, Bethany (Larry) Walton, Thomas Joseph "T.J." (Shelby) Hagan, Benton (Kirsten) McGill, and Barrett McGill; four great-grandchildren, Hallie Hagan, Jaxon Hagan, Kylie Walton, and Keegen Walton; sister, Helen McClain of Shelbyville; brother, Truman (Linda) Monroe of Taylorsville; sister-in-law, Lisa Monroe; special care taker, Christy Ake; and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be 11:00 am Tuesday August 1, 2023 at Barlow Funeral Home, with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery. Brother Tom Sparrow will officiate. Visitation will be 3 - 8 pm Monday July 31 and 9 - 11 am Tuesday August 1 at Barlow Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may go to Wakefield Baptist Church Building Fund.
