Dorothy Bell Nichols

Dorothy Bell Stone Nichols, 102, of Mount Washington, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2025. She was born June 7, 1923 in Bardstown. She worked as an employee at Brown and Williamson before retirement. She was a part of the Queen Ester Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star in Louisville. She loved gardening, animals, especially teddy bear quilting and of the Methodist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Nichols; daughter, Brenda Robert; parents, Audie and Boyd Stone; brothers, John Daniel Stone, Marvin "Bill" Stone, and Luther "Budgie" Stone; and step son, Don Nichols.

She is survived by her son, Rick (Patricia Bond) Nichols, of Mount Washington; step-son, Jack Nichols, of Mobile, Alabama; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 

Her funeral service will be 12 pm(noon) Monday, December 1, 2025 at Barlow Funeral Home with burial to follow at Bardstown Cemetery. Bro. Rodney Lynch will officiate. Visitation will be 10 am - 12 pm (noon) Monday, December 1, 2025 at Barlow Funeral Home.
