Deavonne D. Cotton, 42, of Bardstown, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2025, in Mesa, Arizona. He was born September 9, 1983, in Ft. Knox. He liked to build computers from scratch, and loved martial arts. Deavonne was a great writer and debater. He previously attended the University of Louisville on a debating scholarship. He enjoyed stand up comedy, loved his video games, his dogs and companions, Bear and Toto, and most importantly, he loved his son, Sion Cotton.
He is preceded in death by his father, James C. Cotton; Aunt, Patricia Baker; and Uncles, Thomas and Greg Allen.
He is survived by his mother, Karen Cotton, of Elizabethtown; son, Sion Cotton, of Bardstown; Fiance, Nyla Thompson, of Arizona; three siblings, Jamie Cotton, of Bardstown, Jakara Cotton, of Radcliff, and Ariona Pope, of Bardstown; two nieces, Jaileyah and Amariyah Cotton, nephew, Jahziyon Cotton; uncles, William Robert Cotton, Terry Cotton, Larry Cotton, Stephen Allen, Eric Allen, and Richard Allen; and aunts, Denia Payne, Connie Taltoan, Debbie Young, Bonnee Armston, Debbie Allen, Jean Simpson, Carol Mitchell, and Lesley Allen.
His funeral service will be 1:00 pm Saturday, January 3, 2025 at Barlow Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
The family has requested that memorial donations be made to Barlow Funeral Home to go toward funeral expenses.
