Dean Skinner, 100, of Bardstown, passed away Thursday May 1, 2025 at the Loretto Motherhouse. He was born March 18, 1925 to the late John Skinner and Mary Melissa Spencer Skinner of Sullivan, Indiana. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 139 of Sullivan, Indiana, and a lifetime member of disabled veterans. He was a World War II United States Army Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Skinner; and parents.
He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie (Jim) Boles, of Bardstown; grandchildren, Tonya (Chad) Donoho, of Cox's Creek, and Aaron (Kristen) Boles, of Bardstown; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie (Whit Wiman) Donoho, of Lexington, Nathan (Anna) Donoho, Lilly Donoho, Ellery Donoho, all of Cox's Creek, Aiden Boles, Andrew Boles, and Alec Boles, all of Bardstown; and several nieces and nephews.
His graveside service will be held 10 am Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Bardstown Cemetery. Rev. Phil Bradley will officiate. Military honors will be held by the Marion County Honor Guard at Bardstown Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Loretto Living Center at Loretto Motherhouse.
