Dan Kennedy, 80, of Cox's Creek, passed away Saturday December 13, 2025 at his residence. He was born December 13, 1945 in Louisville, a Kentucky Air National Guard and Air Force Veteran, and member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Washington. He was a loving husband, father, papaw, brother, and friend to many. He was an avid bird hunter, liked to train dogs, travel, and hunt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert "Buck" and Ruth " Tootsie" Kennedy.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Debby Kennedy of Cox's Creek; two sons, Scott Daniel (Jennifer) Kennedy of Bloomfield, and Casey (Sissy) Kennedy of Cox's Creek; six grandchildren, Austin Taylor (Kelly) Kennedy, Mikayla Nicole (Kristian) Kennedy-Young, Colleen Elizabeth (Seamus) MacLeod, Claire (Dade Nalley) Kennedy, Wyatt Collier Kennedy, and Mollie Abigayle Kennedy; one great-grandson, Jason Cade Young; two brothers, Ken Kennedy of Jacksonville, Florida, and David (Sherry) Kennedy of Louisville; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be 11:30 am Wednesday December 17, 2025 at Barlow Funeral Home, with burial in Bardstown Cemetery. Pastor Mark Jones will officiate. Visitation will be 4 - 8 pm Tuesday December 16, 2025 and 9 - 11:30 am Wednesday December 17, 2025 at Barlow Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may go to Hospice of Nelson County.
