Connie Thompson Schickel

Connie Thompson Schickel passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024 in Bardstown, at her home. She was born in Holy Cross, KY, taught in Jefferson County facility schools, enjoyed her bridge and Parkinson's support groups.

She was preceded by her sisters, Doris (John) Johnson and June (Sonny) Hutchins; and her brother, Allan (Mary Gail) Thompson.

Connie is survived by her husband Ed Tony Schickel; her daughter, Thayne (Jim) Bruszewski; sisters, Mary (Bert) Spalding and Lynne (Phil) Bowling; brother, Jim Thompson; her grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be 11 am Monday, August 26, 2024 at Basilica of St. Joseph's Proto-Cathedral. A private burial will be held at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Ursuline Sisters of St. Joseph, Maple Mount, KY 42356, or Catholic Charities.
