Cecilia "Bernadine" Spalding

Cecilia "Bernadine" Spalding, 90, of Bardstown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Baptist Health. She was born March 17, 1936 in Marion County, Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Cora Brady; husband, Thomas Jerome Spalding; daughter, Patricia Rose Stevenson; brothers, Wilber, Cloyd, and Phillip Brady; and sisters, Cordie Smith, Mary Catherine Medley, Theresa Shaw, and Lottie Shaw.

She is survived by her children, Terry (Carla) Wheatley, Janice (Ed) Carroll of Louisville, Dennis (Helena) Wheatley, Michael (Mary Ellen) Wheatley, and Rodney Wheatley all of Bardstown; and she leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her Funeral Mass will be 11 am Thursday, May 28, 2026 at Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral, the Very Rev. Randall Hubbard will officiate. Visitation will be 4 pm to 8 pm  Wednesday, May 27 and 9 am to 10:15 am Thursday, May 28 at Barlow Funeral Home. Prayers will be 5:30 pm Wednesday. A private burial will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
