Obituary

Betty Rose Downs, 72, of Bardstown, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Flaget Memorial Hospital.  She was born on April 11, 1950 in Nelson County.  Betty Rose retired from Nazareth, a member of Second Baptist Church of Bloomfield, member of the Missionaries of Second Baptist Church of Bloomfield and a member of the Star Light Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth Thompson and Marvin Downs; three brothers; George Wiggington, Alfred Wiggington and Joe Wiggington; a sister, Nancy Williams; and a half-sister, Louise Wiggington.

She is survived by two sons, Nathaniel Downs and Billy Joe Downs both of Bardstown; a grandson, Zachary Jackson of Bardstown; sister, Martha Mason of Bloomfield; and a host of nieces and nephews.  

Her funeral service will be at 12:00 P.M. Monday, March 13, 2023 at Second Baptist Church of Bloomfield with burial in Bloomfield Cemetery.  Rev. Joseph Marshall will be officiate.  Visitation will be from 10 A.M. till 12 P.M. Monday, March 13, 2023 at Second Baptist Church of Bloomfield.
