Betty Ray Allen Obituary

Betty Ray Allen, 89, of Bardstown, passed away Saturday February 27, 2021 at Village of Lebanon.  She was born March 16, 1931 in Nelson County, retired from Heaven Hill Distillery, member of American Legion, and St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she was heavenly involved.  She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and loved her family and church.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton E. “C.E.” Allen; son, Joe Pat Allen; parents, William and Julia Wimsett; two brothers; and four sisters.

 

She is survived by her eleven children, William D. Allen of Bardstown, Theresa Slovak of Land O’ Lakes, FL, Mary Lane Volatile of Toddville, MD, Marian Lowell of Louisville, Tim (Lana) Allen of Collierville, TN, Renee (Ace) Armbruster of Grey Court, SC, Julia Wolf of Loretto, Mark Allen, Danny (Mona) Allen, Jerry (Christina) Allen, and Scott Allen all of Bardstown; twenty-five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

 

Her Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Wednesday March 3, 2021 at Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.  Rev. Terry Bradshaw will officiate.  Visitation will be 3 – 8 pm Tuesday March 2 and 8 – 9:15 am Wednesday March 3 at Barlow Funeral Home.  A prayer service will be held Tuesday evening.

 

Memorial contributions may go to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Masses.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
