Obituary

Betty Groves, 83, of Elizabethtown, passed away Sunday June 19, 2022 at her residence.  She was born June 14, 1939 in Adair County, and attended Heritage International Christian Church.  Betty along with her husband, hosted the Groves Sunday Ministry at WBRT-1320 AM Radio Station in Bardstown, for 23 years.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyce Groves; granddaughter, Destiny Groves; parents, William Andrew and Anna Virginia Johnson; and two brothers, David Johnson, and William Johnson.

 

She is survived by her nine children, Carolyn Downs of Bardstown, Joyce Yocum of Louisville, Jane Gutierrez of Bardstown, Linda Livers of Killeen, Texas, Boyce (Rebecca) Groves Jr. of Georgetown, Joseph (Kathi) Groves of Bay City, Michigan, Norma (Stanley) McElroy of Elizabethtown, Tim (Jodelle) Groves of Covington, Washington, and Alice Graves of Lexington; host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and two sisters, Evelyn (Alfred) Johnson of Louisville, and JoAnn Johnson of Bardstown.

 

Her funeral service will be 1:00 pm Saturday June 25, 2022 at Barlow Funeral Home, with burial in Bardstown Cemetery.  Pastor C. R. Payne will officiate.  Visitation will be 10 am - 1 pm Saturday June 25 at Barlow Funeral Home.

 

Memorial contributions may go to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
