Betty Tewell Greenwell

Betty Tewell Greenwell, 92, of Bardstown, passed away Wednesday September 14, 2022 at Flaget Memorial Hospital.  She was born October 15, 1929 in Bardstown, volunteered for Flaget Auxiliary, American Red Cross, member and Past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star, member of Cedar Creek Homemakers, and The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J. H. Greenwell; granddaughter, Kris Rainey; parents, Linus and Viola Elizabeth Tewell; and two brothers, William Murriel "Bill" Tewell, and Edward Gerald Tewell.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Greenwell of Boston; two sons, Joe Greenwell of Boston, and Phil Greenwell of Lake Gaston, North Carolina; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Elizabeth "Libby" McGimsey of Louisville; sister-in-law, Nettie Tewell of Fairdale; and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be 12:00 pm Saturday September 17, 2022 at Barlow Funeral Home, with burial in Bardstown Cemetery.  Chaplain Terry Troutman will officiate.  Visitation will be 10 am - 12 pm Saturday September 17 at Barlow Funeral Home.
