Barbara Young Obituary

Barbara Ann Young, 82, of Bardstown, passed away Monday December 13, 2021 at Flaget Memorial Hospital.  She was born June 25, 1939 in Spencer County, retired from Salt River Electric, and a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, where she was very active.

 

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carole D. Wimsatt; grandson, Jason Wimsatt; and parents, John and Thelma Parrish.

 

She is survived by her husband, Jim “J. L.” Young of Bardstown; son, Jeffrey Glenn “Jeff” Drake of New Haven; three step-children, Greg (Pat) Young of Lebanon, Karen Montgomery of Willisburg, and Eric (Brittany) Young of LaGrange; several grandchildren; sister, Brenda (Rickey) Brown of Bardstown; two brothers, Bobby (Linda) Parrish of Mt. Washington, and Billy Parrish of Shepherdsville; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Her funeral service will be 12:00 pm Thursday December 16, 2021 at Barlow Funeral Home, with burial in Bardstown Cemetery.  Pastor Charles Fausel will officiate.  Visitation will be 3 – 8 pm Wednesday December 15 and 10 am – 12 pm Thursday December 16 at Barlow Funeral Home.
