Alvin W. King, 94, of Bardstown, passed away Wednesday January 8, 2025 at Baptist Health of Louisville. He was born November 9, 1930 in Louisville, a retired truck driver, United States Air Force Veteran, and a longtime member of New Salem Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Etha Mae King; granddaughter, Hallie Elizabeth Cain; grandson, Bernie Dale Hardin Jr.; parents, Lindsey and Gladys King; and brother, Kenny King.
He is survived by five children, Deborah Cain of Lexington, Stuart (Vickie) King of Douglasville, Georgia, Rick (Jean) King, Sue Hardin, and Mark King all of Bardstown; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Ethington of Cox's Creek; brother, Bruce (Judy) King of Bardstown; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be 11:00 am Wednesday January 15, 2025 at New Salem Baptist Church, with burial in New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Brother Mike Lanway will officiate. Visitation will be 3 - 8 pm Tuesday January 14 at Barlow Funeral Home and 10 - 11 am Wednesday January 15 at New Salem Baptist Church.
