Thomas Gilbert Spalding

Thomas Gilbert Spalding, 87, of Bardstown, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at his residence. He was born August 30, 1930 in Washington Co. He was a self-employed carpenter, who enjoyed fishing, gardening, and animals. He served in the U.S. Army as a combat engineer during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Anna Pearl Berry; parents, James & Annie Spalding; daughter, Rita Price; and brothers, Julian Spalding, J.W Spalding, Adrian Spalding, Leo Spalding.

He is survived by his children, David Spalding, Debbie Curtsinger, Carla Spalding, Jim (Bonnie) Spalding, Bobby (Joni) Berry, Billy Berry, Mike Berry, David Berry, Mary (Steve) Janes, Shirley (Lee) Berry, Elaine (Mark) Reid, Susan (Mike) Berry, Brenda Berry; 34 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; sister, Margie Zukoski; and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be 11:00 am Friday, December 8, 2017 at Barlow Funeral Home, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Rev. Terry Bradshaw will officiate. Visitation will be 5 to 8pm Thursday, December 7 and 9 to 11 am Friday December 8 at Barlow Funeral Home.
