Steve Allender, 56, of Bardstown, passed away Thursday April 12, 2018 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, after a hard fight with cancer. He was born January 5, 1962 in Bardstown, an employee for Humana, coached basketball for many years, a Fifth Region Official in Basketball and Volleyball, an avid golfer, gardener, grill master, comedian, and dedicated Kentucky Wildcat Fan, and a member of St. Gregory The Great Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond L. Allender.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Barb Allender; two children, Zach Allender both of Bardstown, and Nicole Allender of Louisville; two grandchildren, Payton and Eli; mother, Catherine Livers Allender of Bardstown; brother, Kenneth Dale (Stephanie) Allender and their two children, Mitchell and Kennedy; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
His Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am Monday April 16, 2018 at St. Gregory The Great Catholic Church, with burial in St. Gregory Cemetery. Rev. Peter Do will officiate. Visitation will be 1 to 8 pm Sunday April 15 and 9 to 10:15 am Monday April 16 at Barlow Funeral Home.
