I was saddened to hear about Mardi's death. We were best of friends in Ann Arbor, attending the U of M from 1962-1966. We went to Chicago for a year. Gayle Nordstrom Hardy, myself and Mardi lived in Des Plaines, IL.- close to Mardi's aunt & uncle. Gayle and I worked at Evanston Hospital in ICU for a year and Mardi worked in Public Health.
We always corresponded at Christmas and I was surprise to have the Christmas card returned. Decided to research and discovered she was gone!
A few years ago, in 2016, we had our 50th reunion. I went back to Ann Arbor and when I was back to White Bear Lake, MN, I sent a 50th U of M Nursing booklet to Mardi, Gayle, Joann Kling Homberg and a few others who weren't able to make the trip. Got a call from a few retired nurses and we had a wonderful visit over the telephone, and one was Mardi and we talked for a long time. Lots of good memories we shared!
So sorry to hear about dear Mardi! I will get a few Email's out to friends about Mardi's passing away. Thanks for the update.
