Joseph Coy “Joe C.” Smith 73, of Bardstown, passed away Friday May 11, 2018 at his residence. He was born December 19, 1944 in Washington County, owner of Joe C. Heating and A.C., and a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Coy Smith Jr.; parents, Scout and Helen Smith; and brother, Sandy Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Shelby Richardson Smith of Bardstown; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Riggle; two step-daughters, Jo Ann (Darrell) Keeling, and Tracy Lynn (Roy) Keeling; six grandchildren, Clay Chappell, Anna Grace Keeling, Cooper Thomas Keeling, Carson Lee Keeling, Matthew Riggle, and Michael Riggle; five brothers, Earl (Judy) Smith, Jim (Ruth) Smith, Roy (Fay) Smith, Dave (Patsy) Smith, and Steve (Rita) Smith; four sisters, Georgia (Joe) Curl, Martha Ann Hardin, Mae (Fred) Greene, and Sarah Just; and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be 11:00 am Tuesday May 15, 2018 at Barlow Funeral Home, with burial in Highview Cemetery in Chaplin. Pastor Danny Haynes will officiate. Visitation will be 3 to 8 pm Monday May 14 and 9 to 11 am Tuesday May 15 at Barlow Funeral Home.
