Hettie G. Fisher passed away peacefully on Monday, October 1, 2018. She was born on March 2, 1925 in Bardstown to the late Leon and Myrtle Holmes Wickliffe. Hettie welcomed Christ into her life at an early age. She was a long time member of St. John A.M.E. Zion Church in Bardstown. Hettie served as a missionary deacon and a long time trustee with other task such as singing in the church choir for years were favorite song was Turn It Over to Jesus. Hettie was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, also served as a long time member in the Eastern Star, and also retired from Barton Brands for 25 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Fisher; three children, Lorraine, Joyce, and Charles Fisher; parents, Leon and Myrtle Wickliffe; five brothers, Sammy, Charles, Eugene, William, and Lindon Wickliffe and three sisters, Nellie Arnold, Sadie Lawler, and Addie Long.
Hettie leaves to cherish her two children, Loyce Fisher Curry and Lindon Terry Fisher (Patricia); brother, Horace Wickliffe her grandchildren, Tony, Nathan (Jada), Tara Johnson Stivers (Wayne) Alphonzo, Crystal, Shelly (Jerri) , Charslee, Jonathan, Talesha, Tyrone, T.J. and her special friend Mikiah Livers-Bryant; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon Friday, October 12, 2018 at St. John A.M.E. Zion Church with burial in Bardstown Cemetery. Rev. Roscoe Linton will officiate. Visitation will be 5 till 8 pm Thursday, October 11, 2018 and 9 till 11:15 am Friday, October 12, 2018 at Barlow Funeral Home.
