Elsie Saxon Chance Obituary

Elsie Marie Saxon Chance, 85, of Bardstown died Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at her residence. She was born June 17, 1932 in Alton, Illinois. She lived most her life in Washington County before moving to Bardstown. She was a homemaker.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harlan and Lucille Saxon; companion of 32 years, Wesley Hill; husband, Joseph L. Chance Sr.; step-son, Joseph L. Chance Jr.; and sisters, Helen Thomas, and Edna Gilliam.

She is survived by her five daughters, Rose (Offus) Lewis of Mackville, Pat Bowen of Farmington, New Mexico, Frances Chance of Michigan, Joni Harrell of Bardstown, Darlene Chance of Texas; two sons, Leon Chance of Mackville, and Larry (Margaret) Chance of Bardstown; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; one great great-grandson; son-in-law, Roger Harrell; several nieces and nephew.

Her funeral service will be 11:00 am Monday, January 29, 2018 at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in Deep Creek Cemetery. Roger Harrell will be officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm Sunday, January 28, 2018 and 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Barlow Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may go towards funeral expenses.
