Demetra Lavonne Sheckles

Demetra Lavonne Sheckles, 38, of Bardstown, passed away Thursday August 22, 2019 at her residence.  She was born September 12, 1980 in Bardstown, an employee for Nelson County Industries, and a member of Bardstown Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Ernestine and Anna Lewis; and maternal grandparents, Eddie and Shirley Sheckles.

She is survived by her two sons, Caleb Sheckles and Samuel Sheckles; mother, Margie Sheckles; father, David Wayne Lewis; sister, Raeann Lewis; grandmother, Gloria Sheckles; step-mother, Candice Lewis; great-great-grandmother, Catherine Bryant; two aunts, Lorraine Skinner, and Carrie Pride; special friend, Johnny Keys; and a host of family and friends.

Her funeral service will be 1:00 pm Tuesday August 27, 2019 at Bardstown Church of God, with burial in Bloomfield Cemetery.  Pastor Ed Lainhart will officiate.  Visitation will be 11 am – 1 pm Tuesday August 27 at Bardstown Church of God.
