Cody Ray Nelson

Cody Ray Nelson, 25, of Louisville, passed away Friday June 23, 2017 in Toledo, Ohio.  He was born May 6, 1992 in Bardstown, and a lawn specialist for True Green. 

 

Cody was a very special young man.  He was saved by the blood of Jesus.  Cody loved his mama and dad, sister Ryane and his little nephew Christian.  He loved everyone.  Cody enjoyed to read, play video games, the outdoors and attending church.  He was a member of People’s Church in Bardstown and attended Highview Baptist Church in Louisville.  Cody had many friends that he loved and they loved him.  He was always available to listen and help anyone he could.  Always HAPPY!

 

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jack and Anna Jane Nalley; paternal grandmother, Tessie Peake; special uncle, Jeff Nalley; two aunts, Mary Downs, and Ida Barnes; and four infant cousins.

 

He is survived by his parents, Bobby and Crystal Nalley Nelson of Bardstown; sister, Ryane Nelson; nephew Christian Beamus both of Louisville; paternal grandfather, Allen Ray Nelson of Campbellsville; five aunts, Sharon Nalley, Tracy Mattingly, Jacki (Jose) Bautista, Trina (Kevin) Smith all of Bardstown, and Carol (Randy) Maddox of Danville; four uncles, Tim (Robin) Nalley of Shepherdsville, Steve (Chasity) Nalley, Troy (Jennifer) Nalley, and Tim (Kim) Nelson all three of Bardstown; several cousins, and great aunts and great uncles; and many many friends.

 

His funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday July 1, 2017 at Barlow Funeral Home, with burial in New Salem Baptist Cemetery.  Pastor Sue Carol Flowers, Pastor Josh Bunch, and Brother Ray Johnson will officiate.  Visitation will be 3 to 8 pm Thursday June 29, 3 to 8 pm Friday June 30, and 9 to 11 am Saturday July 1 at Barlow Funeral Home.

 

Memorial contributions may go to donor’s favorite charity.
