Carolyn Downs Thompson

Carolyn Downs Thompson, 70 of Bardstown died Friday, June 30, 2017 at Baptist Health.  She was born September 29, 1946 in Nelson County.  She was a graduate of Spencerian College, a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, formerly worked at Flaget Memorial Hospital and a Caregiver.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James R. “Jimmy” Thompson; parents, Fabian and Mae Downs; and a brother, Ronnie Downs.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Blincoe; grandson, Gabe Blincoe; two sisters, Debbie Boone and Cathy (Victor) Hall; brother, Willie Downs all of Bardstown; nieces and nephews, Hunter (Sydnee) Boone, Alex Boone, Justin (Michelle) Hall, Benjamin (Emily) Hall, Shannon Downs, and Troy (Erin) Downs; two great-nieces, Alera Cornett and Victoria Hall; and three great-nephews, Cortland Downs, Westin Downs, and Holden Downs.

Her funeral service will be 11:00 am Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Barlow Funeral home with burial in St. Thomas Cemetery.  Deacon Sam Filiatreau will officiate.  Visitation will be 2 to 8 pm Tuesday, July 4, 2017 and 9 to 11 am Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Barlow Funeral Home.
