Norris "Eddie" Carney

Norris “Eddie” Carney, 71, of Bardstown, passed away Sunday May 28, 2017 at Flaget Memorial Hospital.  He was born December 4, 1945 in Nelson County, retired teacher for Nelson County High School, United States Army Veteran of Vietnam, graduate of University of Kentucky, FFA advisor, charter member of Parkway Baptist Church, and an avid hunter.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Carney; father, Norris Carney; mother, Mary Catherine Carney; brother-in-law, Marion Creech; and great-niece, Grace Creech.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Brenda Colvin Carney; daughter, Melissa Carney both of Bardstown; son, Chad (Ashley) Carney of Olathe, Kansas; sister, Judy Creech of Bloomfield; nephew, Dave (Allison) Creech of Louisville; and two great-nephews, Trey and Eli Creech.

His funeral service will be 11:00 am Thursday June 1, 2017 at Barlow Funeral Home, with burial in Highview Cemetery in Chaplin.  Rev. Eddie Benton will officiate.  Visitation will be 3 to 8 pm Wednesday May 31 and 9 to 11 am Thursday June 1 at Barlow Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may go to FFA of Nelson County High School or Gideon’s International.
