Mamie Rose Mattingly Fulkerson

Mamie Rose Mattingly Fulkerson, 91, of Bardstown died Monday, December 11, 2017 at Flaget Memorial Hospital.  She was born April 29, 1926 in Washington County, a retired school bus driver for Nelson County Board of Education for 37 years and attended St. Thomas Catholic Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Mattingly; special companion, Mason Fulkerson; daughter, Diane Clark; son, Terry Fulkerson; parents, Carl and Mary Rose Newton; and sister, Mary Horton.

She is survived by eight children, Joyce Rakowitz (Robert) of Houston, TX, Kenneth Mattingly of Bardstown, Mary Susanne Janes of Nazareth, Sandy Stone (J.R.) of Bardstown, Donna Lewis (Carl) Cox’s Creek, Janie Fulkerson (Ron) of Bardstown, Pattie Berry (Ronnie) of Loretto, and Norma Black (Wally) of Elizabethtown; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren and twenty-five great-great-grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be 10:00 am Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in St. Gregory Cemetery.  Rev. Rodney Lynch will officiating.  Visitation will be 4 to 8 pm Tuesday, December 12, 2017 and 8 to 10 am Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Barlow Funeral Home.  A prayer service will be Tuesday at 7:30 pm.

Memorial contributions may go to the Human Society of Nelson County.
