Joseph Marvin Mattingly

Joseph Marvin Mattingly, 83 of Bardstown died Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Bardstown Health and Rehab.  He was born November 7, 1934 in Springfield.  He was a butcher for A & P and Foodland, a 1952 Graduate of St. Joseph Prep School, PTO President for St. Joseph Elementary School, a member of St. Joseph Men’s Club, U.S. Army Veteran who served in Korea from 1956 – 1958 and enjoyed world travel.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph A. and Mary Mattingly; sister Letty Yates, and wife, Ruth Elizabeth.

He is survived by 5 children, T. Scott Mattingly (Mary) of Bardstown, Michael K. Mattingly, Julia M. Mattingly, Janet K. Mattingly both of Portland, Oregon, and Anthony C. Mattingly of Seattle, Washington; and one granddaughter, Laura K. Mattingly of Bardstown.

His memorial prayer service will be 11:00 am Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in St. Thomas Cemetery.  Rev. Terry Bradshaw will officiate.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Tuesday, December 5, 2017 and 9 to 11 am Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Barlow Funeral Home. 

Memorial contribution may be made to St. Joseph Church.
