Jim "Coach" Waldorf

Jim “Coach” Waldorf, 90, of Bardstown, passed away Friday September 29, 2017 at Flaget Memorial Hospital.  He was born July 22, 1927 in New Concord, Ohio, Veteran of the United States Army, volunteer for over 40 years at Bardstown High School coaching football and track, volunteer for Bread For Life Food Bank, member of Muskinghum “M” Club, Muskinghum Alumni Association, Bardstown High School Athletic Hall of Fame, and Bardstown United Methodist Church.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann Todd Waldorf; parents, Harry and Martha Waldorf; and brother, Harry Bert Waldorf.

 

He is survived by seven children, Rebecca Mayes of Bardstown, Marta Doyle of Cincinnati, Jaime (Marc) Davis of Pueblo, Colorado, Christine Futch of Bardstown, Beth Ann (Kevin) Cannon of Oak Ridge, TN, Matt Waldorf of Hill City, South Dakota, and Timothy (Monica) Waldorf of Bardstown; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, William Waldorf of Catoosa, Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.

 

His graveside service will be 3:00 pm Thursday October 5, 2017 at Bardstown Cemetery.  Rev. Phil Bradley will officiate.  A celebration of his life will be 5 to 7 pm Thursday October 5, at Barlow Funeral Home.

 

Memorial contributions may go to Bread For Life Food Bank, Bardstown High School Athletic Fund, or Bardstown United Methodist Church.
