James C. "Jim" O'Bryan

James C. “Jim” O’Bryan, 39, of Bardstown died Sunday, December 24, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his children and family after battling cancer.  He was born November 5, 1978 in Bardstown.  He was a mason and millwright.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Helton Wayne; a brother, Brandon Tyler Wayne, maternal grandparents, Jefferson “Red” and Mary Helton; and his paternal grandmother, Ruby Faulkner O’Bryan.

He is survived by his daughter, Caitlin O’Bryan of Boston; two sons, Cameron O’Bryan and Izaac O’Bryan both of Bardstown, father, Edward William O’Bryan of Lebanon, step-father, Bruce Allan Wayne of Bardstown; grandfather, Charles Aloysius O’Bryan of Elizabethtown; siblings, Kelly O’Bryan of Bardstown, Brooke Smoak of Bardstown, and Ricci (Ben) Hurst of Elizabethtown. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Family visitation will be Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 10 am to 11 am. Visitation for the public will start at 11 am to 8 pm at Barlow Funeral Home.  Rosary service will be at 5:30 pm Thursday, December 28, 2017 with a Christian service  following at 6:00 pm.  Pastor Mark Jones will officiate.  A memorial graveside service to be held in Bardstown will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may go to the family in care of the funeral home.
