Barbara Ann Downs

Barbara Ann Downs, 81 of New Haven died, Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center.  She was born December 17, 1935 in Bardstown.  She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Evelyn Wilmouth.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Joseph Edmund “Burlap” Downs, Sr. of New Haven; three sons, Joe (Kelly) Downs of Chaplin, Tony Downs (Sharon Greenwell) and Bobby (Sonya) Downs both of Bardstown; three daughters, Debbie (Billy) Durbin of Culvertown, Mary (James) Lashley of New Haven, and Libby Downs of Hopkinsville; twelve grandchildren, Melinda Durbin, Sam Durbin, Priscilla Flanders, Patrice Atchley, Brittany Mouser, Mallory Blair, Joseph Downs, Erica Pierce, Lauren Downs, Ryan Downs, Catrina Lashley-Curle, and Jimmy Lashley; twelve great-grandchildren, Peyton Durbin, Shawn Crook, Kaylee Flanders, Ellison Mouser, Ryleigh Boles, Kaitlyn Boles, Allie Blair, Emma Blair, Bradley Blair, Trinity Lashley, Lexi Lashley, and Willow Curle; two step-great-grandchildren, Marrissa Keith and Joey Keith; two sisters, Sylvia Butts of Mt. Washington, Betty Jo (Larry) Davis of Bowling Green; brother, James Neil (Martha) Wilmouth of Bardstown; several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial in St. Gregory Cemetery.  Rev. Chris Lubecke will officiate.  Visitation will be 1 to 8 pm Monday, May 22, 2017 and 9 to 10:15 am Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Barlow Funeral Home.  A prayer service will be at 7:00 pm Monday.

Memorial contributions may go to U of L Stroke Center and Norton’s Hosparus Inpatient Unit.
